I was born and raised in Michigan and grew up in a generation where the message was simple: “You must go to college.” While I enjoyed school and learning, I never really knew which career path I wanted to pursue. Needless to say, I spent many years—and quite a few dollars—earning degrees that I would eventually never use!
My work history has taken me down a variety of paths, from the medical field and HVAC to manufacturing metal enclosures and electrical boxes. I’ve also worked in retail, food service, human resources, administration, and data entry. I’ll be the first to admit that finding myself in the financial industry was a surprise, but it’s a surprise I’m incredibly grateful for! I truly enjoy what I do and feel blessed to have the opportunity to be part of the team at Neuenschwander Asset Management. I love learning something new every day and getting to know our clients along the way.
For much of my working life, I approached a job as a place to earn a paycheck and then head home. Today, I feel fortunate to say that I genuinely enjoy going to work, the work I do, and the people I work alongside. I’m especially thankful for our clients, who have shown me patience and encouragement as I continue to learn and grow within the financial industry.
My journey hasn’t just involved exploring different careers. I’ve also moved around quite a bit in search of where finding my permanent home. After living in Michigan, Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee, I finally made my way to Wisconsin, where I now live with my significant other, Josh, his two kids, and dog.
Outside of work, we enjoy boating, hiking, fishing, hunting, traveling, and watching the kids grow up. We’ve also added chickens to the mix as we slowly build our little farm, with the hope of one day having several acres of our own. When I’m not enjoying the outdoors, you can often find me painting, reading, crafting, baking, watching football, or putting together puzzles and LEGO sets.
It’s a pleasure to meet you all, and I look forward to getting to know our clients and working alongside you to help make your financial goals a reality!
As an enthusiastic and detail-oriented financial professional, I am dedicated to helping clients navigate their financial journeys with confidence. Currently pursuing my Bachelor of Business Accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where I consistently maintain Dean’s List honors I blend rigorous academic excellence with hands-on industry experience.
In my role at Neuenschwander Asset Management, LLC, I wear multiple hats, expertly handling everything from tax preparation and portfolio rebalancing to managing our firm’s social media and financial education content. Backed by a robust background in community banking and accounting internships, I pride myself on my strong communication skills, precise attention to detail, and collaborative spirit. When I am not analyzing cash flows or crafting financial content, I am actively giving back to my community through my volunteer work with the Miracle League and the Dane County Humane Society.
I am a creative CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional providing financial planning & tax strategies for clients by accurately assessing each client’s present and future needs, objectives, and lifelong goals. My empathetic and engaging personality helps guide clients through retirement as they discuss all of life’s complexities; focusing on specific tax strategies and evidence-based investment philosophy to meet every client’s unique goals and circumstances.
Drawing on over 20 years of professional experience in product marketing, investment advising and tax planning; I enjoy conversation! Having traveled to nearly every state throughout the U.S and every province within Canada; I’ve had an opportunity to connect with many personalities throughout his personal and professional career.
I hold a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional designation along with being a CHARTERED TAX PROFESSIONAL® and ENROLLED AGENT with the IRS, as the backbone to a strong financial plan needs to successfully account for taxes and adapt to changing tax laws.
As a husband and father, I enjoy traveling with my family, tinkering with my ever-growing Koi Pond and watching my children learn, play and grow.
During my salad days, I studied business at the University of Minnesota and the Carlson School of Management. Taking this route seemed to make sense when I graduated high school, as it offered the opportunity to pursue a career in business. However, the experience didn’t go as planned. I found myself disillusioned by the focus and teachings of business school, with many of the lessons revolving around detached relationships focused solely on profit. I eventually concluded that this was not my personal path. I chose instead to purse a passion – writing – and veered off into journalism for the next six years of my life.
My time working for weekly and daily newspapers was fulfilling, as it gave me a chance to learn about the community where I lived and its people. But as life progressed, I was fortunate enough to find a woman, Teresa, to take my hand and start a family, and it soon became clear that the vagabond lifestyle of a journalist was no longer the right fit. It was around this time that my dad, Roy, invited me to join him in the business he started out of his basement, and it was an offer that changed my life and way of thinking forever.
While I was taken aback by some of the business lessons I heard during college, this introduction to microeconomics at the most personal level – helping individuals and families navigate their financial lives – held much more meaning than I could have imagined. It is something that makes me excited to go to work every day, as there is nothing better than helping people solve financial puzzles and accomplish their long-term objectives. It is something that I feel truly blessed to be a part of and the relationships I have formed with clients are what make this job so much fun.
When I’m not busy at the office, I try to spend as much time with my family as possible. Teresa and I have two children, Mason and Paige, as well as our oldest “kid” at home, a beagle by the name of Kirby. We get outside as much as we can and are always up for a hike through a state park or a bike ride down the Camrock trail near our home in Cambridge. We also like to get out and scatter balls around Lake Ripley Country Club in what we pass off as golf. In the winter, much of our time revolves around youth hockey, as Mason plays at the Peewee level and I have helped coach his teams for the past six years. I also volunteer at our local church, Grace Lutheran, having served as the treasurer on the church council since 2018.
